Abstract
This study investigated the effects of depression on cognitive function and daily living ability in older adults according to the severity of neurocognitive disorder. Participants were 407 elderly patients diagnosed with mild to severe neurocognitive disorder. Clinical Dementia Ratings were divided into 0.5, 1, and 2 groups to analyze whether there was a difference in cognitive function and daily living ability according to the presence or absence of depression. The results indicated that the more severe the neurocognitive disorder, the less depression affected cognitive function or daily living ability. This study confirmed that the effects of depression on cognitive function and daily living ability in elderly patients with neurocognitive disorder differ according to disease severity.
